We had a great time with family at the beach for the holiday. It was hot but not nearly as hot as the 105 temps back in Raleigh! The water was perfect - so calm and cool. We spent a lot of time in it - Hudson included. He thought the waves were hilarious and loved to stomp his feet in them as they broke. We didn't do too much in the way of fireworks, sparklers, etc. this year but we still fufilled our patriotic duties by relaxing, wearing red, white and blue and consuming many hamburgers and hotdogs on the 4th :).
Hudson was the most eager to the get to the beach each morning. Even in his excitement, he was very patient as everyone rolled out of bed, got dressed and packed the coolers. Every once in a while he would break out in a chant to try to encourage us along - "bea(ch), bea(ch), bea(ch)!"
Aunt "D" is one of Hudson's favorites. He loves her so much he let her put his hair into a pony tail!
He's a natural! No one taught Hudson what you're supposed to do on a surfboard but somehow he knew! Dancing on top of it was one of his favorite things to do this week!
Waiting for the "big one".
Lots of cornhole was played. Hudson was pretty awesome at putting the beanbags in the hole. He was so good, he thought he was number 1!

As always, it was a great trip. We are so thankful to have a place to go to retreat and for sweet family times together.
