Dear Hudson,
You are 20 Months! Daddy says it's almost time to stop referring to your age "in months"...I think we'll let it go until you are two...which is coming up quickly! You are growing so much physically and cognitively. Everyday you surpise us with something new that you do, say or understand. You love to point and say the names of things you see. One thing you are doing a lot lately is pointing up to family members in picture frames and saying their names. Dee is a particular favorite this month. You are also starting to put concepts together. Pop graciously brought over a giant truckload (four, actually) of mulch. You and I went out to talk with Pop as he shoveled it out of the truck. We still have a little pile in our driveway and every time we go to get in the car, you see it, point to it and say Pop. When you point to the picture of Poppy you say his name and then you say, golf cart because you looove to ride in the Poppy's golf cart down at the beach. When it's time to put something away you tell it bye bye and you're starting to put two words together, like more milk. You are repeating words that we say now and are even singing songs! The other night we were listening to our Praise Baby CD and God of Wonders came on. You started singing holy, holy right on cue. Daddy and I nearly melted into a giant puddle on the floor. You often have that effect on us :).
One things that has been interesting this month is that you have learned the word "no". You have realized that this is an amazing thing as now you can really start being independent! This is new territory for Mommy and Daddy. We have been working a lot on listening lately. It usually takes you a minute or two, but you do (usually) :). You have little tantrums every once in awhile but they are fairly short lived. You are learning how to be your own little person and we are learning how to let you do that!
You love to give hugs and kisses still and you love to play games, sing songs and dance. If you are egged on, you will put on a show. It's so fun to watch you!! You love to sing songs and do the motions that go with it. You like to sing The Itsy Bitsy Spider, The Wheels on the Bus, Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes and Five Little Monkies.
You still love trucks and trains. Nana got you a train set this month and you can't get enough! We play choo-choos at leaste 10 times a day :). Your favorite book is still Roadwork. Whenever you see trucks and men working on the side of the road you shout, "roadwork, roadwork, roadwork!". We both get a kick out of it every. time.
You are finally starting to try new foods! You realized that you actually LOVE strawberries, blueberries, melon, grapes and raspberries! We told you that you would, but you didn't believe us!!! You even tried some peas the other day...the jury is still out on that one.
Life keeps getting more fun with you, Hudson. We absolutely delight in your sweet and funny personality. God has made you so special and we are incredibly thankful for the gift that you are to us! :)
Love,
Mommy and Daddy
