Believe it or not (and I am having a really really hard time believing it), our little boy is 6 months old today! At 1:00pm 6 months ago today, our lives changed forever. When I reflect on that day, I remember very little of what it took to actually get him here. All I remember is watching Carson hold him for the first time and thinking, ahhh, he's here. The miracle of actually getting to take part in creating a little person still amazes me. Each time Hudson does something new, we are in awe. It's so neat to watch him grow and develop. Hudson brings such joy to our hearts and we love getting to know him more and more each day. Carson and I are so thankful that God has given us such a gift and feel so blessed that He has chosen us to love and raise Hudson. We could not be any more grateful for the little bundle of blessing we've received.
At 6 months, we are highly entertained with every new little expression, sound and discovery he makes. He's such a sweet baby and we love him so so much!
Here's what we're up to these days....
- Hudson is eating 3 meals per day. He looooves to eat (just like his Mommy and Daddy)! On the menu right now -- oat cereal, sweet potatoes, avocados, apples, bananas, squash and we just added peas this week! And, Mommy is loving making all of Hudson's food. It's so easy and sooo economical!
- Due to a decrease in my supply, we've had to supplement with formula the past few weeks. Good thing he's not a picky eater. He'll take it any way he can get it! He typically nurses/has a bottle at 7am/11am/3pm/7pm.
- He is 16lbs, 9oz and is still in size 2 diapers.
- He can still fit in most 3-6 month clothes but due to his length is moving quickly to 6-9 month clothes. He clearly does not get this from him Momma!
- Hudson can sit up on his own for about 30 seconds at a time. He's still a bit wobbly and is learning how to catch himself with his hands. He's all about it now and when we put him on his back he uses his little muscles to try to pull his body up to a sitting position.
- He loves to pull up to a standing position and bounce. He is so cute trying to figure out the jump-a-roo!
- Hudson is mesmerized by his hands and feet. He loves to open and close his hands and is grabbing for everything. When lying down, he holds onto his feet and rolls from side to side.
- He is babbling and has figured out the /m/ sound...lots of ma-ma-mas when he's upset...of course, he has no clue what he's saying at this point, but I like to pretend he does!
- He LOVES his Daddy. Now that he's getting stronger, the rough housing has officially begun. Lots of tickles, roller coasters and airplanes. I think seeing Daddy come home from work each evening is the highlight of Hudson's day! He hears the door open and grins from ear to ear!
- Hudson makes the funniest faces! He's all about his tongue these days and loves to stick it out, swirl it around in his mouth, lick his lips and make clicking noises with it!
- We think teeth may be making an appearance soon. Hudson puts everything in his mouth and we are a drool factory!
- His little personality is really starting to come out!
